2 Chronicles 29 - 31; James 4

In the quiet yesterday, in the 'being still'...I wasn’t so much listening as trying to again just ‘detach’ and protect myself. Funny thing is it’s not as easy as it used to be, the detaching…..OH I can still do it, but it just doesn’t ‘feel’ as good as it used to. So praising YOU for the journey yet again. The presence of Jesus becoming so real.

Man, as Francis Schaeffer has put it, is a glorious ruin, a stately castle, intricately and masterfully constructed by the hand of an Artisan who designed His work with no thought of expense or practicality. A proper concern for God’s own glory and majesty was His only guiding force in creating a person. The castle, however, was given a life of it’s own, capable of rearranging itself. When man (speaking of both men and women) took it on himself to be as God, he ruined everything. Crumbling walls, rotten wood, and overgrown gardens: the decay became so extensive that only one with the eyes of a craftsman could see the structural beauty that remained underneath the overgrown foliage and overthrown walls. Nevertheless, it has glory in its form and composition. Man is an amalgamation of dignity and depravity, a glorious ruin.

That comes from a book that we are doing right now …a book by Dan Allender…..The whole struggle of our lives rests in us TRUSTING that…That we were created by an amazing ARTISAN, an architecht.... a God of such detail and that .....
That God had a plan, a design........So praising YOU for YOUR PLAN and YOUR grace when we continue to screw it up, wanting what we want so desperately.

James 4: 1-2 Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don't have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn't yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it. 2-3 You wouldn't think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you'd be asking for what you have no right to. You're spoiled children, each wanting your own way.
4-6 You're cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. (tearing at and down HIS DESIGN) And do you suppose God doesn't care? The proverb has it that "he's a fiercely jealous lover." And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you'll find. It's common knowledge that "God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble."
7-10 So let God work his will in you.
Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.

It’s just what we were talking about this morning……and I praise YOU for people to talk about it with…….
