Deuteronomy 22 - 24; Galatians 4

Deuteronomy 23: 14 For the LORD your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you.

Right before this verse is a verse telling them to bury their .....their excrement…..what a change you know, in so many ways I mean now we have Bathrooms and yet to think about God walking among them that close is just....... He won’t turn away from us you know….in Christ we are covered and He can come close…in Christ alone can we be clean enough for the God of the universe to come close, through His spirit we are THAT close….

Galatians 4: 9 But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces ? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?

I turn back because it’s easier….I turn back because I forget that THAT is my wetness, like a fish in a goldfish bowl I forget that I am even wet, that I am that prone to sin, I don't even see it as sin...??…..and in the forgetting I get further and further away from God…He doesn’t leave me, He knew I was wet in the first place... but in my forgetting I get further away from Him……I turn back because it’s just easier to live in my wetness than to see how WET I am…..a faith walk is HARD WORK but the benefits far outweigh the work of it…..it’s just easier to BE WET……

Galatians 4: 1 What I am saying is that as long as heirs are underage they are no different from slaves, although they own the whole estate. 2 They are subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by their fathers. 3 So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. 4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. 6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are no longer slaves, but God's children; and since you are his children, he has made you also heirs.

An heir…..wow……as children of God we are heirs…..how cool is that…..I want to live in freedom instead of just WET……

Amen...so right there...easier, easier than having to struggle, see other Christians just getting by...living pretty decent lives, why am I called to struggle, why do I see the struggle, just get wet, after all it is sometimes more fun to be wet than dry...Lord dry us up so that we can burn passionately for you!

Love the wet analogy. Something to think about.
