1 Samuel 30 & 31; 1 Chronicles 10; Matthew 12

God is the author of our faith…drove to work thinking this not even sure where it came from:
  • Hebrews 12: 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. NKJV
Hebrews 12: 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. NLT
Hebrews 12: 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. NIV
Hebrews 12: 1-3Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! MSG

Which led me to thinking FAITH is….
Faith is NOT the belief that God will do what you want. FAITH is the belief that God will do what is right....Max Lucado
Faith by its very nature is struggle and personal discovery. Faith, to be biblical, is diligently seeking out God (Hebrew 11.6 last part of verse). Christopher (Texas Blogger)
And then Larry Crabb saying the point of the journey is to WANT what God wants MORE than anything…..

It's just all connected.....

And how our lives are our story and how if God is the author of our story….how I’d like to have a fairy tale story, maybe you would or do but even in the fairy tales it’s hard and they didn’t KNOW their ending…..this probly isn’t making sense but this is the stuff I am going to be thinking on today…..well that and how David in the midst of everything that his men were wanting to do to him and all that Saul was throwing at him….1 Samuel 30: 6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.

And then there’s being content in being a child of God…is that enough for me in my story, to know that God loves me and Jesus says….Matthew 12: 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

So I am going to be praying today. And trying not to ‘think’ to much but just rest in that that I know…..I am accepted…I am loved….wonder what that will do in me today?

I am being spoken to in the deepest way today by so many blogs...my pastor says that God already considers us in Heaven...if we could just but do that and not get so tangled up in all of this...this need...this Kingdom we build and construct and expect God to bless...seeking Him, finding Him, loving Him, having Him love us...resting, not making it to complicated with our junk...that's the story...oh what things to chew on!
