Hosea 6-9; Hebrews 3

Hebrews 3: 12 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. 15 As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts

as you did in the rebellion."

16Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ? 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

Donald Miller author of Blue Like Jazz….”objects to overconfidence among evangelicals. "If your mind is not constantly being changed," he says, "you're not following Christ." Miller believes sharing the gospel should be like setting someone up on a blind date, not like explaining propositions. “

Encouraging each other…..
Setting up someone on a blind date….

I wouldn’t set someone up on a blind date unless I was SURE they were perfect for each other . And the more I come to know God the more I am sure He is perfect for everyone exactly as they NEED Him to be, He's personal..... So encouraging each other daily to seek Him…..that’s what I get out of this……He is an amazing God, showering us with Grace and Mercy new every morning as we need and all He asks is that we turn to Him…ok maybe minimizing here but for the sake of encouraging us this morning….Turn to Him…Listen to Him…Follow Him….Hebrews 3: 1…fix your thoughts on Jesus…..encourage others to look to Him.

nothing minimizing about it.. This really is a simple gospel...just keep turning to Him..that's what it really is all about. thanks for the encouragement to turn...we in the body of christ, so desperately need to encourage one another.

I am comforted and renewed each time I visit your blog. Setting someone up on a blind date with Jesus...what a beautiful thought. I so need to learn to comfort and encourage and be the light of Christ. I know what it means to me when someone encourages me.
