Isaiah 40 - 42; 1 Peter 3

I know I am tired of living scared ~ first I had to become tired of being about me and the more I see of that~ while I am still ashamed, Your forgiveness staggers me and in that GRACE I’ve gotten scared??
Of screwing up more~differently?
Gotten scared of never changing….and You say ‘do not be afraid’ ‘do not fear’ over and over in Isaiah this morning….close yet another gap?
NIV1 Peter 3: 8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.

TNIV 1 Peter 3: 8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

Living ‘in faith’, lives about You, trusting YOU will do what You will do and being content and satisfied with that yet passionately pursuing my/our part in it or just pursuing YOU…..?

Loving one another…why is that so hard?? And if you tell me it’s not hard….I want to know how you think you do it??

I pray all of us see that gap and go about closing it…wrestle with the truth of where we’re at in the loving…...You say so and You will guide us in the doing…..right??

Isaiah 40: 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

It is the ULTIMATE example of "hard." I think it comes down to how much of yourself you're willing to set aside to be like Jesus and how much you're wanting to be right/first/all knowing.

It's not as hard to forgive if you have no personal feelings about the issue and, in order to do that, one must truly lay down "self."

And if you don't think every inch of that journey is hard, then you're way ahead of me on this path!

I'll second that.
Only when Christ lives and reigns in us can we love as we are commanded in the Bible. And he cannot live where self is alive and well.
As Jim Elliot says, we have "bargained for a cross"...
And yet, strangely, it's not the loving that is so hard, when God loves in me - rather, it's allowing God to make my heart a place that can hold the love he puts in...

So I Go said...

He's got your back, that you can trust .. He's started a good work in you, planted a seed.. and He's going to see it through.

But, then again, I've hassled you enough about all of this, so I'll back off.. (unless you want more of these gentle and not so gentle nudges)

I just know you can do it, and I can see that you're already aware of where your strength will come from.

peace,

jeff

To not worry so much about changing and sort of leave that up to Him...accepting that He loves and accepts us ..no matter..that's the hard part...forgiving ourselves...just for being...He did, He does...
on another note..I was never encouraged to dream either...but I'm learning...
