Leviticus 18 & 19; Psalm 13; Acts 19

Acts 18: 29 The city was filled with the confusion, and they rushed with one accord into the theater, dragging along Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul's traveling companions from Macedonia. 30 And when Paul wanted to go into the assembly, the disciples would not let him. 31 Also some of the Asiarchs who were friends of his sent to him and repeatedly urged him not to venture into the theater. 32 So then, some were shouting one thing and some another, for the assembly was in confusion and the majority did not know for what reason they had come together.

I get emails / forwards from Christians calling for ……..stuff I guess I simply don’t care about, that doesn’t make me right but IF I read that stuff and get carried into their causes...instead of spending some time in the word or listening in the quiet for His voice I get confused…confusion requires quiet to sort out…..I’m not confused but if I were to be totally honest…been feeling a call to quiet.
The voice I generally hear is :
"You have the right to remain silent. What you lack is the capacity."--Shrek

That’s not God I’m pretty much convinced but there is a time for quiet and I guess I may need to figure out what that looks like. Blogging has taken up a lot of my TALKING, or maybe that’s even a lie and it feeds my talking….I don’t know…..I wonder if it’s not time for me to even here go inthequiet…….

Christian spirituality does not begin with us talking about our experience; it beings with listening to God call us, heal us, forgive us. -- Eugene Peterson

I’m not sure it will last…..but today at least I am going to try to be an active listener….

don't go far...yes we need quiet..yes we need to listen...but oft times a great teacher is the hearing of our own voice articulating what we have heard inside our spirits during that quiet time...

What great quote from both Eugene P. and Shrek! I really need to apply the listening to my life more.

Thanks for reminding me.
