Isaiah 29 - 31; James 1

Woke up with the urge to flee, to escape…..not sure from what, knowing I won’t ....but the urge rises up in me like an ache. An inability to close the gap, to make happen what I want to happen…..an inability to DO anything or thinking I could or should…..and

Isaiah 30: 15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:
"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.
16 You said, 'No, we will flee on horses.'
Therefore you will flee!
You said, 'We will ride off on swift horses.'
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!

In repentance and rest
In quietness and trust

James 1: 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

He speaks and I am learning to listen…….in the listening is coming ……
Having preferred easy my whole life…learning ….slowly learning that hard is worth pursuing….???
