Jeremiah 33 & 34; Psalm 74; 1 John 5

It will give a whole new dimension to the way people understand her."
Time Magazine article on Mother Teresa's Crisis of Faith

And really in all reality, who can understand another? Unless you can walk a mile in his or her shoes.....
We can and simply are called to love, nowhere does He say understand each other, maybe because He knew that would be impossible but WITH Him we are called to love. I don’t know just what I am thinking this morning.
I read about people serving in ministries similar, there are bloggers that serve populations I barely remember and this pull in my life to find a way to minister to Hurting Women, used in the broadest of terms. How can I simply and completely love without trying to fix, serve without looking for results……I don’t know and yet that is what pulls at me repeatedly. I will probably just swim around the outer fringes of possibility rather than dive into something so foreign to me.

1 John 5: 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

Swim and pray maybe ....;)

i think you're nailing right on the head our call to love.

even in the midst of it there are times when we'll all choose to "swim around the outer fringes of possibilities" .. that will happen even after you take the plunge, but somehow i know you'll take that plunge... and it's going to be a great thing to watch.

don't worry.. lots of lifeguards around to keep an eye on you :-)

I don't quite know how to say this, but I love the way you reach out to understand the experience of others, and for stability tie yourself to the tableleg of God's word rather than your own experience.

I love that your blog is consistently a reach out, a reach within, and always, a contextualization of these two in the return to the Bible.

I am learning from you.

You are right that it doesn't say we are to understand one another but I do believe it is important.

I read the article and it demonstrates that she is human and that faith can have many dry years. She never abandoned her faith but was honest in her private writings for me that I believe is beautiful.

I second jennypo here my friend so love how you are always grounded in the Word in all your posts. So many attacks are waged on the Bible and some seem to get tougher yet God declares it is is His Word and will last forever Understand our experiences in light of the Word as opposed to understanding the Word in light of our experinces :)

- to love without trying to fix, and to serve without worrying about results.

This is my greatest struggle, and my greatest hope. I find comfort in the knowledge that I am not responsible for the results. And yet, I struggle so much with giving them up. Understanding is not always mine to discover, but love is always mine to give.
Thank you for sharing.
