Happy THANKSgiving

To sacrifice the greater good for the less and then not to get the lesser good after all–that is the surprising folly. . . Every preference of a small good to a great, or a partial good to a total good, involves the loss of the small or partial good for which the sacrifice was made. Apparently the world is made that way. If Esau really got his pottage in return for his birthright, then Esau was a lucky exception. You can’t get second things by putting them first; you can get second things only by putting first things first.” CS Lewis

Matthew 6:33 Msg "If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Matthew 6:33 NIV But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

To see it…..believe it…..and not be consumed by 2nd things…that is the struggle and I pray to always struggle against that desire for 2nd things.

That sums it up for sure!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! You are one of the things I am very thankful for this year (wait, you are not a thing...you are a person, you know what I meant right?)

I'll rage against the second things with you...let them not consume us indeed, He is the priority or He should be, and praise to Him and the blessings beyond compare!
