awesome book.

i began reading it while in my little room in sri lanka- august 2005. it was a good time and place to start reading a book about God-honouring adventure.

I have some trouble thinking that the barbarian model is useful for those of us who follow Jesus. On the surface it sounds good: be forceful, take the land. It's one-dimensional, though, focused on one task. Where is the art? Where are friends? Is it possible for a barbarian to be a real human being? I think the process of becoming a follower of Jesus is more complex than Erwin is able to put into words.

Larry;
I have 'be still' in and on one side of my mind and heart and 'charge in love like a rhino' on the other...it IS only looking to and following Him I know which to be....
