1 Kings 2; 1 Chronicles 29; Psalm 95; 2 Thessalonians 1

The tunnel ‘vision’ or picture still hangs over…..around in my thoughts…there isn’t much fear of IT just beginning to fear or maybe question what my response to it will be…..IF there is anything to it……The point of the journey is to want what God wants MORE than anything…IF there’s a tunnel……I just will have to choose to go through it differently and without quitting, is what comes to mind this morning….and you know what maybe it’s nothing……

The green, isn’t it gorgeous….when we left for Kauai we were coming out of the FREEZE damaged trees and flowers and the green of Kauai seemed at the time irreplicable and of course the landscape is different but the green for us, here, now…. it is stunning and the temps are mild and the breeze…well nothing like the Trade Winds but enjoyable nonetheless..I guess I’m just saying I’m getting ‘used’ to being back…..but I DO MISS the palm trees, wish they were a midwest thang...

Funny how I look at things differently now…deeper and yet I pray not as obsessively as before…..deeper and fuller maybe…I don’t know just a beautiful day and talking to myself and the 3 of you who read here….cool to know that…..
1Chron. 29: 14 "But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. 15 We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope. 16 O LORD our God, as for all this abundance that we have provided for building you a temple for your Holy Name, it comes from your hand, and all of it belongs to you. 17 I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. 18 O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac and Israel, keep this desire in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you. 19 And give my son Solomon the wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, requirements and decrees and to do everything to build the palatial structure for which I have provided."
How I don’t remember that you know….that I give back to you…I give nothing to you that you haven’t first given to me….what would change IF I remembered that? Would I give more…..more $$, more time, more……I don’t know because to think that I give back is IS so foreign to me…..I guess I think I make it…I don’t though do I, I don’t make time but do I really think I MAKE my money…MY MONEY…..to even begin to think of it as YOURS…..what would happen in me.
And then David’s exhorting Solomon, all the people of Israel….1 Kings 2: "So be strong, show yourself a man, 3 and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go, 4 and that the LORD may keep his promise to me: 'If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.' And then it all comes into view, it shapes…..it is about YOU and how I so badly want my Grandchildren to know this…to enjoy life because they are about you, even the bad stuff the hard stuff becomes what we find JOY in because it is about you…..the end being a KNOWING all the way to the tips of our toes that what YOU want is BEST and ….I don’t know just ...moved and wanting to stay moving towards YOU….to live a life of PRAISE and WORSHIP……so that I am salt and light….and in the being …..arggh….thinking deeply versus obsessing……in the deep thinking is YOU in the obsessing is me…..

2 Thess. 1: 11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
So another day of prayer….mine for you and asking yours for me……this quote was the first thing I read this morning….
Faith is to the soul what life is to the body. Prayer is to faith what breath is to the body. How a person can live and not breathe is past my comprehension, and how a person can believe and not pray is past my comprehension too.
